How does Orthokeratology work?
Orthokeratology (including EyeDream) is the science of using rigid gas permeable contact lenses to gently reshape the curvature of the eye overnight, giving a slightly flatter cornea which corrects short sighted prescriptions. Orthokeratology and Myopia Management.
Myopia Management refers to techniques and treatments that slow the rate of progression of short-sight (myopia) in children. In addition to the many benefits of orthokeratology listed above they have also been shown to reduce the rate of prescription change when used by short-sighted (myopic) children by between 36% and 58% (depending on the study) compared to those wearing standard contact lenses or glasses.
